Steve Holmgren

Producer

A graduate of Boston University’s School of Management, Steve Holmgren is a New York-based independent film producer and curator. Steve worked in production at Mark Cuban and Todd Wagner’s HDNet Films (REDACTED, BUBBLE, BROKEN ENGLISH, ENRON: THE SMARTEST GUYS IN THE ROOM), as well as in international film sales, primarily dealing with documentaries for Cactus Three. In addition, Steve has worked with several film festivals including Sundance, Tribeca, and South by Southwest.

Steve first worked with Matt as a producer and sales agent on PUTTY HILL. Most recently, he produced Marie Losier’s THE BALLAD OF GENESIS AND LADY JAYE, a documentary on pioneering musician-artist Genesis Breyer P-Orridge (Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV), which won the Teddy Award for “Best Documentary” at the 2011 Berlinale. Originally from Minnesota, he is currently the curator at the Brooklyn cinema UnionDocs.
